Thoughts about an AFE fleet in Elite Dangerous

So,
Although none of us can be sure what the multiplayer will be like exactly. Frontier have put up some info here: http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2721

The obvious conclusion is to form an AFE fleet composed of those posters and lurkers in here and the vermin inhabiting the #alt.fan.elite chatroom.

I presume that the other Elite communities (of which there are more than a few) will likely form their own fleets.

I'm not suggesting a pirate fleet (yes I am) just a cooperation of traders competing with the other groups.


I'm just curious to see if anyone has any thoughts at all on the subject.

I hope it happens, but for me it's single-player I'm most interested in. I
really, really do not have much time for games anymore and the chances of
me being able to put any commitment into a guild-like structure are zero
(actually, both from temperament and time...). That said, for those able to
do this it sounds like a good idea and I hope it all happens.

Actually the general consensus in #afe was about the same: Not much into playing games; waiting for single player; hoping for an AFE only server; AFE fleet could be an occasional laugh.

I can't wait to see how they plan to handle large amounts of players in 1 system. The lag in Eve Online seems to be absolutely immense, and they've recently introduced a feature which slows down time drastically to compensate.

I'm hoping Ian Bell secretly asks us to shoot up Braben's personal ship.
Even if he doesn't ask, we'll probably do it anyway.
